Access to Information Requests

Alberta’s Access to Information Act (ATIA) came into effect on June 11, 2025. ATIA is intended to:

  • balance the public’s right to access information with the need to protect personal and business information.
  • promote transparency, accountability, and openness in public bodies

Before Submitting a Request

The ATIA applies to all public bodies, such as Invest Alberta. In many cases, the information may already be publicly available. Before submitting a formal access to information request, we recommend:

  • visiting investalberta.ca for published reports, resources, and updates, or
  • contacting Invest Alberta directly to ask whether the information can be provided informally.

Access to information (ATI) requests should be made directly to the public body that holds the information. To make an ATI request to another public body or the Government of Alberta, click the link below:

Submit an Access to Information Request

To submit a request:

  • Complete the Access to Information (ATI) Request Form, including your contact information and a clear description of the records you are requesting.
  • Include the $25 initial search fee, which applies to all ATI requests. Payment may be made by cheque (payable to “Invest Alberta”) or by e‑transfer.
  • Send your completed form and payment to Invest Alberta’s ATI coordinator by email or mail:
