August 20, 2026, Calgary, Alberta – Invest Alberta received a 2026 Excellence in Economic Development Bronze Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The award was bestowed for the organization’s work in the Paid Advertising Campaign category for the 500,000+ population group.

Each year, IEDC honours economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that consistently demonstrate excellence in the field. The honourees lead transformational projects that revitalize communities and advance the practice of economic development.
The award-winning ‘Resourceful’ campaign used Alberta’s established reputation for natural resources as a starting point to introduce a broader story of resourcefulness; infrastructure resources, talent resources, natural resources, and innovation resources.
