Invest Alberta congratulates Technologies New Energy (TNE) and Data District Inc. on advancing a significant data centre development initiative in Alberta. Phase one of this agreement is expected to include four data centre projects with a combined capacity of around 240MW and a development budget of $1.26 billion (€780 million). This investment reflects growing global demand for secure, reliable digital infrastructure and highlights Alberta’s strengths as a destination for investment in energy-enabled technology projects.
This announcement underscores Alberta’s competitive advantages — including access to dependable and affordable power, strong connectivity, and regulatory clarity, which together enable companies like TNE to move forward with confidence on complex, capital-intensive developments.
