“Today marks a significant milestone for Alberta as we celebrate the launch of Amazon’s latest Alberta project: a state-of-the-art robotic fulfillment centre in Calgary spanning 2.8 million square feet. This investment is both an economic boost with over 1500 new jobs and an endorsement of Alberta as a hub for innovation and growth.
“Amazon’s decision to expand here speaks volumes about what Alberta has to offer, including our prime location, strong infrastructure, skilled workforce, and growing consumer base. The YYC4 project is the latest in a series of investments, each strengthening the company’s logistical capacity. From distribution centres in both Calgary and Edmonton to the $4.3 billion AWS Canada West Region, to two of North America’s largest wind and solar projects that will help power its operations with 100 per cent renewable energy by 2030, Amazon’s commitment to Alberta is evident.
