Statement issued by Keith Bradley, Invest Alberta Acting CEO
Invest Alberta congratulates HelloFresh on its growth in Alberta through the development of its new state-of-the-art agri-food processing facility in Calgary. Under its Factor Meals brand, HelloFresh Canada produces and distributes chef-curated ready-to-eat meals. This major investment strengthens Alberta’s value-added agriculture sector and highlights the province’s growing reputation as a global leader in food innovation.
HelloFresh’s $19.5‑million project was supported by the Agri‑Processing Investment Tax Credit and the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership Emerging Opportunities Program. By sourcing all meat and produce for its Factor Meals line from Alberta-based agricultural suppliers, HelloFresh is helping build a more resilient domestic food system while creating new opportunities for local producers.
This facility will support rising demand for ready-to-eat meals and is expected to create 400 permanent and 251 temporary jobs. It is a clear example of how strategic investment fuels economic growth, innovation, and long-term prosperity across the province.
Invest Alberta is proud to support companies like HelloFresh as they expand in Alberta and contribute to a thriving, diversified agri-food sector.
